A couple of months ago I was strolling through my news feed and saw a $20 offer for a new brand of active leggings. The “Girlfriend Collective” brand is made by a group of designers with experience at brands like Amazon and Lululemon. You had me at Lululemon. I love Lulu but the brand is expensive and lately they have been switching up the product lines and eliminating my favorites. I am constantly looking at active wear in stores and online in an attempt to find something similar. I immediately placed my order through PayPal and then I looked at the comments: never got mine, shipping delayed, ordered mine months ago…oopsie. But I read on and learned people were actually getting the leggings and looked happy with him. After I placed my order I got an estimated shipping date for early November. I got a tracking number around Halloween and the leggings arrived about a week later.
My favorite leggings of all time are Lululemon’s Inspire Run Crop. They are made of the thinner Luxtreme fabric and are better for sweating in. I would say the Girlfriend leggings are thicker, more like lulu’s popular Wunder Unders. I am 5’8″, medium build and I bought size large. They are long but perfect for me. They do not have a drawstring and later in the day felt like they were creeping down. I could actually probably go for a medium next time. They were just warm enough for a breezy, 50 degree day but I probably wouldn’t wear them in the dead of winter.
The leggings are made from recycled plastic bottles and are 85% percent nylon 15% spandex/lycra/elastane. I haven’t washed them yet so I can’t tell you how that works, but I’ll update. Just like all my other athletic wear you are supposed to use cold water, no fabric softener and hang to dry. All-in-all they were a great deal. Now I want to know want they will actually retail for. If you want to try them, the offer is still going. Just go to Facebook and search “Girlfriend Collective” to find the offer!
